Whether you have recently been diagnosed, are undergoing treatment, are living with cancer, or supporting a loved one, connecting with others who understand can make a real difference.

At Cancer Support Netherlands, we connect people in real life through in-person meet-ups, with our WhatsApp community in between. It is a welcoming space where English-speaking people can share experiences, learn from one another, and feel part of a caring community.

There is no pressure to speak. You are welcome simply to listen until you feel comfortable.

Why join our community?

Connection that makes a real difference.

Living with cancer can sometimes feel isolating, especially when living abroad. Our community helps you connect with people who understand many of the emotional and practical challenges you may be facing.

By joining you can:

  • Feel less alone
  • Share experiences in a safe and supportive environment
  • Learn practical tips from others who have been through similar situations
  • Build meaningful friendships and connections
  • Gain confidence and emotional support throughout your cancer journey

Many members tell us that simply knowing someone understands can make a significant difference.

What to expect

Informal, welcoming, and in real life.

Our meet-ups are informal and welcoming. Each one is different, but you can expect:

  • A warm welcome, whenever you join
  • Relaxed, informal meet-ups with tea and no agenda
  • Opportunities to share your experiences, if you wish
  • Time to listen and learn from others
  • Compassion, understanding, and encouragement

There is no obligation to speak. You are welcome exactly as you are.

Who is it for?

Open to anyone affected by cancer.

Our community is open to English-speaking people living in the Netherlands who have been affected by cancer. This includes:

  • People currently undergoing treatment
  • People living with or beyond cancer
  • People recently diagnosed
  • Family members and loved ones seeking support

Not sure whether we're right for you? We're happy to answer your questions before you join: talk to someone first.

How joining works
